The German Army has signed a contract to purchase 1,500 off-road Wolf 2 vehicles, with the option to increase the order to up to 5,800 units.

Based on the military version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class series 464, the model will come factory-equipped with the new D-LBO digital radio system and command equipment. With a ladder-frame chassis, the SUV supports a gross vehicle weight of 4.5 tons and can carry four fully equipped soldiers, weapons, ammunition, and supplies.

Exclusively developed for military use, the Wolf 2 features a Euro 3 engine with nearly 250 horsepower and an automatic transmission, capable of temporary maximum power operation in critical situations. It will be available in two versions: for the military police, with sirens and special lights, and as a command vehicle for other troops. Its payload capacity reaches 1.2 tons.

The contract was signed in July 2024, and the first units are expected to be delivered in November this year. Initial production will be up to 30 vehicles per week, without the D-LBO system, which will be installed later.

It is expected that by April 2026, the new fully digitalized Wolf 2 vehicles will be regularly distributed to the troops, with a service life of at least 20 years in active duty.
